Good question. I have no idea. Once I was blood winged with a star in the risers I kinda gave up caring. I wish I still had them though.

My originals were the clasp type pinned on the DZ by Gen Westmoreland. I think I threw them away when I got the pin on type.
"War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things; the decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks nothing is worth a war, is worse. A man who has nothing which he cares more about than he does about his personal safety is a miserable creature who has no chance at being free, unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself."- John Stuart Mill
...my German ones are in the drawer of my desk, had to take them off the class-A when I upgraded to silver and then gold. The US ones are still on my class-A uniform which is unfortunately way to small now...
cheers

I didn't take an issue pair. I had a Vietnam Vet that's a family friend who had two daughters pin me with his old wings. Wear them when I wear my dress uniform. My 1SG still gets on me for not having StaBrite every Pay Day Activities.
Like many of you, I have them in a case awaiting the day I will pin them to my son. Couldn't wear them on the class A's. Everything had to be Sta-brite for the Artillery. Glad FISTers aren't in a Battery anymore!

Still Love Ya Sarah !! I will NOT Comply!
Me too, not being the first Army vet in the family, but being the first paratrooper I can only hope that my son will carry on this new tradition. Unless of course he wants to be a doctor or something. I might give him a pass that way. Then I will have to find some other young deserving trooper.
It took me a while to find them but lo and behold while sifting through Christmas decorations I finally located my original wings pinned to an old civilian hat I had buried in a box. I have removed them and put them on my new hat.
