I gave mine to my Dad to hold on to. He spent 24 years in as a Dirty Nasty Leg and was 1SG at Syracuse Recruiting Bn when I enlisted (he got me the slot when there wasn't any). It meant alot to him that I thought enough of him to entrust them to him....

Mine is with it's original cardboard backing (yes they also gave the backing) and in an ammo can I use as a keepsake box with other valuables.

They are on my knife case where thy have been since 78 and have made jumps with me.
As an aside note, back when I was pinned with them in April of 77 they were painted flat black, but are sterling silver.
For some reason the Army issued them that way .

I tacked mine on my sons chest when he graduated jump school last fall. He in turned will use those same wings to pin the next member of our family who graduates jump school.

Mine are on my rideing vest for all to see,I had always hoped to pin them on my son but he stayed away from the army......maybe a grandson
will step up to the plate someday!

The ones I got pinned with were thrown out a window the night that I got them. After GRaduation I went over to see my buddy who was in HHC 75th Ranger Regiment. I was up in his room. He saw my wings. Took them off my chest and threw them out the second floor window. He then took out his first set of wings out of a box in his wall locker and pinned me with them. I was a little pissed about losing my wings but proud he gave me his.

The set that he gave me were given to my son last year when I gave him all my medals, certificates, dog tags and everything from the Army. The only thing I have not given him yet are my first set of Jump Boots. I still have them.

Long-since left on some woman's pillow in the morning a few days after earning them(and it was near a Marine base, so I picture her telling local Marines... "I don't know who he was, but he was a hellava lot better than you guys... and he left these wings and this AA patch").
