Default Women instructors for the IDF's parachuting course

Women instructors for the IDF's parachuting course share their experiences, from the intensive and physically demanding months of basic training to teaching combat soldiers how to jump out of a plane.

(My question: how do they teach boys to keep the balls out of the harness' harms way?).

Reminds me of old para joke:

General is inspecting the all-geared-up line prior to boarding.
Grabs first guy's harness around the chest, gives few shakes, reaches for the leg starps and grims: "Tighten up, Trooper. And get you balls out of the harms way! What's your name, Soldier?"
    "Private Ivan Sidorov, Sir!".

    Moves to next: same story.

While almost down the line, checks the tiny trooper's "stuff" and suddenly smiles ear-to-ear.
"That's the way to do it, Troops! What's you name, Soldier?"
    "Nurse Natasha, Sir!".

If I had enough money, I would hire them for my own DZ.

Aside from the looks...its the feeling of pride you see and hear from these women. Other pieces I have seen where the IDF is highlighted; you don't hear the women saying they "deserve" more. They are proud of the work they are doing not pissing and moaning about the fact they are not in an infantry, arty, unit and it holds them back. No offense to the like of our MI...whom we know can kick ass

We had two female Black Hats in the BAC when I was Tower Branch Chief - a SGT in Ground and a SSG in Tower. Both went through the same prep to be a Black Hat as the males and succeeded where many males had not. The SGT was not as good an NCO or an instructor as the SSG, but she was tough and served as a good Black Hat for 2-3 years. The SSG was one of the finest NCOs I ever knew and a role model for women in the military, but her body could not handle the stresses of the job as a Black Hat and, after about 8 months in the Branch, was forced into medical retirement. The Army lost a good NCO when that happened.

I don't think there are any female Black Hats in the 507th now, but there certainly could be and - IMO - should be as they need to be there to visibly set the example for other women who aspire to hold the title of "Soldier" and "Paratrooper."

They don't need you."

Purple, in 90/91 when I went through there was a Rigger SFC Black Hat, once she found out there were like 13 of us in the platoon going to Rigger School afterwards, she became a very tough lady with us, afterwards, we all appreciated the extra eye she kept on us no one failed a run or PT test after she and the other Black Hats were done with us :)

In Israel, there is war every day and there is no "Front" line. The U.S. could learn a lot from the IDF male as well as female soldiers. soon we could be in the same situation if the current administration and their friends have their way

I'd let any one of those Israeli "Black Hats" JMPI me any day! When I hear the "Top Gun" theme music I wanted to tell Maverick.."Sorry about Goose"!

NOTE: Purple..when my son graduated BAC in November there were a couple female Black Hats(think all Army),plus Navy and Marine Corps male instructors too.
