I have an oppurtunity to get a hi point 45 cal. pistol with 2 extra mags. I would like any personal intel on the weapon if you mugs have any.
The price is great and I am looking to get an off duty weapon for carry now that I am within spiiting range of retiring.

I have seen some decent reviews and know someone that has one but it is not a comfortable gun to shoot. If you are on a budget then it may be worth it but I would ask if you could shoot it first to see what you think. mixed reviews about actually shooting it with it being uncomfortable to shoot.

Friend has one and I did shoot it. He has had no issues with it, when I shot it, it was heavy, the blowback style takes a bit to get used to (one relates to the other). Limited knowledge says it seems to be a reliable multi-tasking brick.
For carry I wouldn't, but for a spare to keep in the tool box ....maybe.

It is gonna be heavy as hell (due to blowback operation) and you'll have a very hard time finding any acceptable holsters for it. As a truck gun it would be fine.

I had one when I was up in AK, yeah...I wouldn't buy it unless you just really want a .45. I'm an ambidextrous pistol shooter and I just couldn't get used to it in either hand, plus it weighed way too much for a pistol. It could have been that I just didn't shoot it enough, but I didn't really like it much. I'd save your money and buy a more quality pistol.

What this gentleman said so eloquently.

For fucks sake, since you are a brother in blue I would rather give you a backup piece than you buy that one.

You can buy a brand spanking new one from a buddy's gun shop for 199.00. There is a reason why it is so cheap. The early ones were know to fire when dropped.

For what you can buy a "Blue Line Glock" as a LEO you should go that route.
