I've been looking at a Company named Quenton Defense who makes Billet upper and lowers and will do pretty much anything you want including colors. I have only seen pictures and so can you if you go here http://quentin-laser.com/store/produ...roducts_id=110

What's approximate cost to assemble a complete weapon given a lower? I know there's a lot of options, but I'm talking just a decent M4-styled shooter, not a werewolf hunting, night-scoped, three-point slinged, railed-out zombie raider with a 12v cigarette lighter plug that requires a second mortgage to sit in my closet. Cause I see fairly decent ads on things like 5.56 SIGs and S&Ws at Cabelas, and figure you can probably beat those if you work at it.

Building your own is not cheap but you get what you want, you can buy low price AR by many manufactures but you don't get the better options that way.
Here is a place to start and remember that these are only just a guide.

Just ask yourself do I want a good Truck or a prius.

    Barrel $150.00 and up
    Upper 80 and up
    Flash Suppressor 30 and up
Bolt and carrier 125 and up
    Charging handle 30 and up
Free float rail 60 and up
    Trigger 150 and up
    stock 50 and up
Buffer, tube and spring 60 and up
    grip 20 and up
Springs, detent pins and roll pins 30-50
forward assist components 30 and up
Small parts, bolt catch, selector, mag button and release parts, take down pins, trigger guard, ejection port cover etc 50 and up

I'm sure there are a few items I missed but this should cover most for a DI gun. Piston will be more.

    AIRBORNE!

PS: You also need the proper tools to build one.

Thanks for that! Although I was a Platoon Armorer (82nd Armorer's Course in '71, that was a blast), I haven't kept up the skills, and with a relatively huge investment in photo and video gear, I need another expensive hobby like a 3rd nostril. Much as I'd like a personalized firearm, I'd probably go with a complete OTC solution, and for site-affiliated customization, put one of Fred's APO bumper stickers on the stock.

I did this already for my BN while I was in Iraq 06-08 I tried several companies and Superior Arms was the most helpful and eager so I went with them. He did custom lowers on both sides of the lower and custom SN's.

I might still have a little pull with the owner and could help you if you want. I ended up sending him around 80 to 100K worth of bussiness when all was said and done.

I hope we can get this going again. From my experience with Superior Arms, we all dont have to agree on the same design. We can go with several different ones. For example
on one side you choose basic, senior or master wings, fuck all that NOVICE wings BS
Then on the other side you could choose "Got Silk" or the latin phrase or even add a third or forth choice. Then you also get to have a custom SN and about three lines of text in the data block i.e. "Death from Above" All that has to be on the lower by BATF requirements is Superior Arms and where it was manufactured and a Serial Number.

As far as the order goes. You go to a local gun shop and get a signed FFL copy and send it with your order and pay Superior Arms directly. Then the lower/rifle is shipped to that dealer, then you just pick it up and pay transfer fee $20 usually.

OK last post on this unless yall want me to get this rolling again. Superior Arms still has examples of SOME of the work they did for BN and BDE up on thier site so I assume he would still do this type of stuff. I havent contacted them yet cause I want to get the go ahead from the OP first and dont want to just take over his idea.

I may be broke, but I can still afford to be honest.

Novice Jump wings with "Nex Superne" (Death from Above in Latin) engraved on the magazine well.
I like the maroon on the safety, and serial number idea
Should be a skull on it somewhere lol

Bro, if you are willing to do the leg work that would be awesome. I had initial talks with Spikes but then I had to put it on the back burner.
