Welcome from the FOGs; I'll have a Rolling Rock on draft.

Then went back active in Feb 1995. I didn't feel up to jumping, so I went leg-19D. Sent to Ft Puke LA, to the 2/2 ACR. Sent down to haiti with the UN-MIH contingency after Operation Uphold Democracy . I got a real bad taste in my mouth from being in that unit, so I got out and called it quits for good. I Had donated a kidney to my older sister in april 2001, so when the terrorist attack came in sep 2001, I tried to go back in, but they would'nt accept me due to the missing kidney. Go figger. Now, i have the bug completely out of me, and am enjoying my fatness and long hair. Besides, I had a few old army friends who told me that I had done my time, let someone else join in. I'm ok with that now.

Dude..had to respond for a couple reasons. One, I was a year ahead of you(graduated Jump school Oct'83..had done Infantry OSUT in '82 as a Guardsman)and went to C/2/508 also before winding up at the 82d MP Co. as their only 11B( I had a Crim.Justice Degree). That rated a WOW..but your ONE kidney story was a "Holy Shit". You see I have had ONE kidney since it was removed when I was 8 days old. I NEVER told the Army and covered my scare with a tattoo. I had tried to get into the AF Academy by telling the truth and was denied, so I said the hell with it did my thing and went on my way. I'm presently trying to get a waiver with the Reserves(my "secret" came out last year..another story for another time)to serve again. We shall see. If not ,I'm proud of my service and have a son with the 173d who will do great things with that fine unit. I just had to respond. Oh yeah.....WELCOME TO THE SITE Brother!

Dan..STAY with the site, even if you only visit on occasion. Great guys and sometimes some very informative(and funny)stuff. You'll like it. As for the album, it is next to me right now and I CANNOT find any info on who produced it(same with my Benning infantry one). Nothing. When my son graduated both schools (in Oct and Nov respectively)NO albums were even offered. Sorry. Anyway, hang in and enjoy the best paratrooper site on the web!

Grunt, Thanks, Brother. I can't believe I didn't even think of looking at my Infantry album fo r a clue. Dain bramage. I will always use the excuse of not tucking my chin in enough on landing for my brain damage. I will always remember my second jump, though. I failed to tuck in the chin, and I did smack my noggin. Next thing I know I'm being dragged along the DZ with 5 guys jumping on me to stop me. The got me up and unhooked, and i had no clue what I was doing or where i was. They helped me from being dragged, but they all left me standing there thinking I had "come back to earth". I remember that feeling of being lost and scared. Funny now, but not then.
Thanks Grunt, I do appreciate you and your service
