Fraud info.

My name is Jeff and I found this site while looking for info. on my brother Randy Campbell who was killed in Vietnam on Nov. 19,1966. he was with 1st Bn 8thCav Recon. I found info. on this site that Jerry Conners was or is a fraud and his story about the Chinese Bandits was made up.
The only thing I know for sure is that 3 guys in 3rd scout squad, Carley, Hatcher and Spickler made up a card with a cobra on it that said "Chinese Bandits-Sudden Death"
Does any one have info. that Jerry Conners is lying about his claims

There's a thread around here somewhere (it may not be accessible to you, depending on which "room" it is in) where one of our members spent quite a bit of time trying to confirm Jerry's claims. If I recall, Connor probably did serve in Vietnam, and may even have done some interesting things. But, his story begins to spin off in directions that no one to date can confirm. Even guys who served in those units have no idea what he's talking about.

You might find that thread if you do a search for "Jerry Connor" or "Chinese Bandits" in our site search box (top right hand corner).

You can also google the same two phrases. When you do, thought, you'll see that Connor has been cutting and pasting the exact same stuff all over military related sites for years. But he never, ever answers any questions. We've all decided that he's probably card-carrying crazy.


On a better note, I'd be remiss not to thank you for your brother's sacrifice in service. The only brothers I have are here; I can't imagine losing a biological one.

What are you up to? You defend and then question info on Conners. Do you know him?
Are you trying to prove or disapprove this mythical creature "the Chinese bandit"?

On the wall is his name 12E line 88, when I am there for "Rolling Thunder" I look at all those names and think of all the parents and relatives torn apart. After 45 years we still keep in touch with the soldier who escorted Randy home.
One last thing, everything Jerry Conners stated may be in his head but if you scroll down his site the first photo of 3 guys leaning on a gun ship you will see my brother, he is on the left. Thank you for your replies

If Jerry wants to confirm or actually converse about his exploits, he's been given ample opportunity on multiple sites. His choice is to paste and run and never, ever has he responded to any inquiries made of him.
If there are any misunderstandings it's in his power to clarify them.
