    WTF? Greetings

Howdy fellas. I joined before I realized there would be an ordeal by regulation before I could participate. I'm sorry if this isn't in the proper format. I was in A 1/505 from 11-76 to about 10-77 or thereabouts. Went to XVIII AbnCrps Recondo school out on some hill, Sand Creek? Sand Hill?I don't really remember, it was intense and it sucked. We started w/ like 2 platoons, and when we finished there were 12 of us, and all of them didn't pass. They closed the school (I hear they re-opened it in the 80's) I lost 20 pounds in 3 weeks. Went to DC to guard the Capitol for the inauguration of Jimmy Carter, and had women pass us their hotel room numbers, phones, etc.

Then I went to the 1/75th and suffered a series of mishaps involving parachutes.
    Then I went to college.

    Cool Introduction

    Howdy fellas.

I went to XVIII corps Recondo school in 1977. It was summer I think because it was only miserabley cold right before the sun came up. I remember a SSG Hernandez, who walked around with a machete (used for emphasis during instruction,) and Sgt Pond.

I was in A Co. 1/505. Our barracks were right across the street from the museum, the T55 was in B co's yard I think. I have lots of memories of Ft Bragg and Fayetteville.

I have a few funny (to me) stories of Recondo school, I guess we all do. I could remember almost every moment and detail of the entire affair. Only the names and faces have faded.

Welcome aboard. How about a little history? Where/when Basic, AIT, BAC? What kind of mishaps did you have with the chutes?

    Howdy-
There was of course no way of knowing whether you were being watched at any given moment. How often, or on what system, the Thought Police plugged in on any individual wire was guesswork. It was even conceivable that they watched everybody all the time. But at any rate they could plug in your wire whenever they wanted to. You had to live -- did live, from habit that became instinct -- in the assumption that every sound you made was overheard, and, except in darkness, every movement scrutinized. E. A. Blair

Welcome to our AO. Thanks for your service.

Your intro reminds me of when I got busted crawling out
of Darks mom. I stuttered more than Spongebob at a NASCAR
