    Default American Hero

    We lost an American Hero . Carl Delano , from Maine, 90 years young. WW II vet who was in the 101 st . He was in THE Band of Brothers. His name is on the WW II memorial in DC as a war Hero. This guy was my neighbor and I'll miss our long talks over a cup of coffee. Gods speed Airborne. RIP

    Humble to the end too. We get the Bangor Daily News here and his obit read simply "....he served in the U.S. Army 101st Airborne Division in the European Theater". not a word about the Band of Brothers. When we say the "Greatest Generation" this is what we mean.
