    Exclamation Avatar availability

As an Association the staff is continuously evaluating our verification process and identifying ways to strengthen it. The vetting of our members is a cornerstone of our credibility and by extension our verified members. As such, we have identified a method to further decrease any confusion of who the verified members of our community are and will be implementing the following changes. Effective immediately, non verified members of the community will no longer be allowed to utilize our collection of military specific avatars (images of badges, tabs, units, etc). Furthermore, they will not be able to upload their own graphics as avatars. The only remaining option for these users is to pick an avatar from an approved selection.

This will do a couple of things:

    1. Add incentive to get verified.
    2. Further reduce the ability of posers to reflect awards, units, or other status that they are not entitled to.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to let us know.

    AATW!

I just read this thread about avatars and Verification. When I trolled down, it says, under Posting Permissions, that I do not have permission to post new threads. I've been a member for a long time now, and verified a long time, as well. Can you explain why I cannot post new threads?

If that is the case regarding your account, I would assume it is by accident. Someone will be along shortly to make sure account is squared away.

You can also try to start a thread here: http://www.armyparatrooper.org/dropz...-The-Help-Desk

Title it with "Test thread" to make sure you can or cannot start new threads.

FYI, members cannot start new threads in the Announcement forum, you can only reply to them. Methinks that may be the issue.

I will say, I love the new policy. Kudos to the command staff.

does this mean your gonna pull my Sapper avatar while I have been trying to verify for a year now
A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is for insects.

He sent me a PM that the docs were sent last night. They're probably sitting in the verifications email inbox. I won't have a chance to look at them before tonight.

Oh okay. I guess sending them last night is the same thing as "trying for a year". Cool. Glad that got figured out.
