    Default What Are You Drinking?

I'm just curious what the esteemed members of APO have stocked in the fridge, or the cabinet or whatever.

I usually have a bottle of Maker's Mark Kentucky Bourbon on hand, and recently a bottle of Maker's 46 as well.

For beer, I've gone with Coor's Light cans as my default cheap beer. Usually I try to stock my favorites which are Alaskan Amber and New Belgium's Fat Tire beers, but recently I've been buying a six pack of something familiar along with a six pack of something I've never tried. I reacquainted myself with Rouge's Dead Guy Ale in the form of a growler last week and loved every drop of it. I've found Henry Weinhard's Private Reserve to be a very decent choice on the cheaper end of the "micro'brews" and will be trying their Dark Ale soon enough.

Today I picked up some Indian Brown Ale from Dogfish Head, which I am currently enjoying (5 bottles into it), and some Rougue's Santa's Private Reserve.

I recognize Chimay as one of the best brews I've ever had, but don't get it on a regular basis lol.

Why tiptoe through life only to arrive safely at deaths door?
The more I know, the more I know I don't know.

Currently...Bud Light. Bought a 30 rack for Turkey Day at my house and busted in a little early.

I like to switch it up when it comes to beer. Prior to Bud Light I had Sam Adams Octoberfest. Prior to that I had Killian's. Before that, Smithwick's, Before that, Bud Light Lime. Before that, Newcastle, and the list goes on and on.

Once a month when my buddy gets back from Drill at Ft. Dix, I get a case of Yuengling Lager. It's not distributed here and you have to go to New York or south to get it.

For liquor, at home it's nearly always rum. Gosling's (for the dark and stormies), Captain Morgan and Captain Morgan Tattoo are the most often bought. On occasion you will find a bottle of Bacardi Limon.

Five years ago I would have told you that I was drinking Shiner Bock. These days, I'm sipping either Diet Dr. Pepper or Iced Tea.

Stashed and well hidden for special occasions Talisker & Laphroag, Klipdrift green lable brandy for general use along with Captain Mogan rum and tons of Black lable beer. When I'm lucky I manage to get Maibok which is only available for 3 months of the year. It comes from a special grain or wheat grown in Namibia and is 100% "pure" beer resulting in a very short shelf life. A rich dark malty beer... stuff it I'm dribbling.

I ALWAYS have a fifth of Jameson in the cupboard along with some rot gut Russian named Vodka in the freezer. My normal beer consumption is a 40 ounce of Mickeys or Miller High Life (both $1.89) and they don't stay in the fridge long. I did buy a six of Guiness Draught bottles the other day for me and a six of Shock Top for the missus.....

Thomas Creek, a local brewery, has a 12 pct by volume beer called Up The Creek. I've got two six packs for the HH6 and myself.

You will always find Chimay Blue or Red in my fridge (and I will always have some at every Sizzler I am at ). If you kike Chimay then you'll like Scaldis (have some of their Noel brewed in the fridge too).
Newcastle I have found to go great with steak (almost always have some Newcastle in the fridge too). My everyday beer is Coors Light.

There are a few others I like, too many to mention at the moment.
    Bring on the Sizzler

Cool Re: What Are You Drinking?

I got some Patron samplers for the Mrs and a gift box of some Korean wine from BG Yoon. He gave my section a nice little present dealy for being friggin' awesome. It's like 19% alcohol in a bottle that has a Mr. T starter kit hanging off the neck of the bottle. Looks pretty nice but I'm not drinking it .
