Default An old mate of mine

I have an old friend who served with Guy Mullins and I who immigrated to the US and now lives in Mission Viejo, California, his name is Mark Cluttey and was our donkey / packhorse / bitch carrying the LMG. We called him Machine Gun Cluttey. While we all shat off jumping with folding stock rifles he was allowed to jump with the tiny, light, unobtrusive LMG, lucky little shit! Are any of you guys in the area, could be worth a few free beers, tell him it's an order from Matt Olivier & Mike McWillaims (Guy Mullins).

If you are there send me a PM and I'll send his phone number and e-mail address. BUT you can only contact him if you abuse him and demand free beer!!!

I've just had a better idea, if you do contact him, in your most arrogant pompous voice explain that you are an official from the immigration or naturalisation service of the US Government and during a routine post 9/11 security check it has been revealed that he was a paratrooper in the former Apartheid Regimes South African Defense Force and as such his "green card" is being pulled. From your records he is on the watchlist for war crimes in South Africa due to his role in the shameful Cassinga operation on the 4th May 1978.

I wish I could see his face. I think I'm going to die laughing. The beers will flow....

I certainly hope that Mark has better sense of humor, when it comes to "La Migra" pranks, than I did during my many years of dealing with Immigration (a.k.a. "La Migra", as labeled by Latinos).
I used to live in SoCal, and occasionaly still going there for business. I'll look him up, but won't prank him with "La Migra"; moreover, I'll buy him a beer.

Yank his chain, then tell him his mates Matt and Mike send their kindest regards.

    Yeah, I would do it.

But, alas- too bad... I used to go out to SoCal on business but not so these days.

Hope and Change... and all that.

Wrong side of the country for me. But it would be funny as hell.

The Land of the Fruits & Nuts is on my "Do not Go To" list even though my youngest son lives and goes to college there. I will go to his graduation but will be there less than 2 days as I did when he graduated from high school. He flys to Alaska or Texas to visit me and his brothers in Texas.

Even though I am now a US citizen I believe that there are some conditions under which one could be stripped of that. If that had to happen, where would one be sent if one no longer had citizenship any where. Not true in my case however, I filled in the right forms and was allowed to retain my SA citizenship.

But feel free to look me up. I still drink beer.
    :)

MGC you old sob, great to hear from you, why don't you join in the fun, Mike and I have had a ball and made many good friends. Lots of great paratroopers aboard and I found out that even stuck in Africa, all paratroopers worldwide speak the same language. Look forward to hearing from you. Are you still doing ultra marathons and triathalons ??
    Best Wishes, Matt

    Matt, you're in deep sh!t!
Mark, my beer offer still stands, once I'll make to Commifornia some day (no offense: I lived in CA for 17 years).
    What a story: cross-globe reunion!

Mark, you know the drill: post introduction, gimme "twenty", buy a round of booze.
    PM inbound!
