Gentlemen,
I was wondering if there are any members here from 2-152 LRS, and if so, could I possibly email or call them at their convenience to find out how to get in and general questions about the unit. Thank you.

I have not heard anyone mention that unit before. Do you by chance mean the Indiana National Guard?

Do me a favor High Speed, figure out what makes the Indiana National Guard unit you're addressing special (historically) and I'll see if I can find you a contact.

Sir,
I would be more then happy to provide the information on why this unit is historically significant.
The 2-152 can trace is roots to D and E company of the 151st Infantry division. These two companies were designated long range patrol by the Indiana Adjutant General. Before deploying to Vietnam the D-Co went to the Army's jungle warfare training school in the Panama Canal zone. They were then activated and sent Ft. Benning Georgia (Home of the Infantry) where it received advanced infantry training, practice jumps, and underwent one week of training at the three phases of Ranger School. By the time they deployed all members of the unit was jump qualified and 98% of the unit was jungle warfare qualified. On December 28th 1968 the unit left for Vietnam. Upon arrival they were joined by Co F of the 51st infantry and by mid January the men of D CO were going on long range patrols with the men of F CO to orientate themselves to LRPS in jungle combat conditions. The men of D co were II forces surveillance teams in the jungle, but that changed when the word was given that bodies count more then information. By this time there name designator was change from Long Range Patrol to Ranger. The teams normally operated in 5 to 6 man patrols but sometimes would patrol in up to 12 men units. The unit left Vietnam in November of 1969. D Co Ranger then became D CO of the the 75th Ranger Regiment. Six members of D CO were killed while conducting Ranger missions. D Co earned many awards while conducting itself courageously in combat. 19 Silver Stars, 175 Bronze Stars, 86 Army Commendation Medals, 120 Air Medals, 110 Purple hearts, 19 Indiana Distinguished Service Crosses, and 204 Indiana Commendation Medals were awarded to D CO. What makes this unit historically significant is that it not only carried on the Ranger traditions and warrior ethos established by Robert Rogers, but in a short period of time, D CO proved itself worthy of the title Ranger by carrying out successful LRPS, Ranger, and hunter killer missions. And attending and becoming successful in many prestigious Army schools like Airborne, Infantry, and RECONDO. These warriors not only bring honor to the Ranger, Airborne, and Infantry heritage and name, but to the state of Indiana for having such hard men come from, fight and kill for it.
2-152 LRSC is now part of the 38th Infantry division which battle honors date back to the First World War when members of its units were parted and shipped to where they were needed. In the Second World War, the 38th was responsible for taking back the Bataan peninsula and were awarded the title "Avengers of Bataan" Since then the 38th Infantry Division has supported and fought in the War On Terror.
There are so many reasons of why this unit is special to me, mainly because it is an Airborne Infantry unit that links the past with the present. It carries on the traditions established by the men who jumped into Europe and hunted the Communist in the jungles of Vietnam and is now hunting terrorist in the mountains of Afghanistan. This is a living, breathing paratrooper unit that wears the red beret with pride as they should. They are composed of hard men that live the Airborne Infantry legacy which means so much to me and the wannabe paratroopers out there.
Motherfucker. You are definitely precise in your dissertation. I commend you.
I do have some questions about the history you presented but it's unimportant really. Drive on.

I graciously bow and say you are correct sir. However owned is a little dramatic. He did fail to mention that the unit was the ONLY National Guard unit to deploy to combat in Vietnam. However, he held his end up, and I will make a few calls and get you in contact with someone in the unit.
Damn Shyshark, just throw a brother to the wolves.Besides Google-fu is a skill any waterhead can use, Rocket does it all the time.
