I've had a Monsoon bag for about 6 months now. It's my briefcase/lunchbox/big freakin pistol holster bag. I've had bags with two straps about all my life and end up most of the time just using the one strap, so I went with this sling bag. I got it for $30 cheaper than the Maxpedition site on www.baumshoe.com. The good thing about these bags is that they have a multitude of Maxpedition accessories to customize the bag. I like it, I've had no durability issues and I have no complaints. Hope this review helps.

IMHO, If you're only going with one strap, make it a wide one with a quick release buckle :) I like that about the Monsoon.

    Thank for the input guys.
I picked up a Colossus on Fleabay along with an additional pouch (gonna use it for first aid) and a water bottle pouch - looks like it'll be a lego project adding it all on!!
I'm new to all this 'new-fangled' TA-50 stuff!! We'll see how it turns out - I won't be carrying it everywhere like a Jack Bauer bag.

Great timing, I was just looking at these bags and came here to post a thread much like this.

I'm looking at the Gearslinger bag.

Anyone have that one? I want to use it as sort of an every day pack for throwing my laptop in, work out gear, range gear/bug out, weekend trips, etc. I'm not sold on the one strap thing though, is it a better system overall that two shoulder straps?
