Are you going to Arlington, Brasso? My uncle was buried there exactly two years prior, Feb 22, 2008. I'm thinking of going up for a day and paying my respects to both my Uncle and Col. Howard. Anybody else interested in spending the day in DC?

"a hundred-dollar shine on a three-dollar pair of shoes."
I'd like to, however, like I told the SGM. I can't commit right now. This is just a test on the tribute video. The music is from the sound track for John Wayne's movie, "THE ALAMO". COL Howard (MOH) was in 2 of his movies and liked this sound track.
Please don't leave any comments, etc. If it works then any feed back on here would be cool. Thanks.

No, Actually we knew they were preparing something since they requested some pictures to do a special on him from the web master about 2 weeks before he passed away and this aired at 1800 on Dec 23, 2009, and the COL died about 1130 that day. However, he made the same mistake as most people when he said; He not only got the MOH, he also had a couple Silver Stars and also 2 DSC's. That is wrong he had the MOH, DSC & SS plus 4 BSM for Valor, 3 AM for Valor, 4 ARCOM for Valor, 8 PH, (he was wounded 14 times) and 4 different levels of Vietnam Gallantry Cross for Heroism.
No it's not the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry as it has been called as long as I can remember. And the South Vietnamese Government authorized every unit that was in Vietnam the Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Palm Unit Citation after we left. BUT no one can wear an OLC with the Palm even if your awarded it 5 times, it just keeps the 1 Palm for the unit citation. Most people or GI's did not know about this change since they were long gone from the Army, you do not need or will never gat orders but it's in AR 600-8-22. And JUST BECAUSE you were awarded the UNIT citation does not mean you can wear the individual medal as I have seen on some guys racks. The individual award comes from the SVN and it has 4 levels, Palm (you got an award from Army level) which would be like the MOH, than a Gold Star, Silver Star, Bronze star. the COL has the Gold, Silver and 2 Bronze Stars, so that would be equal to the DSC, SS and 2 BSM since he did not get the MOH till 1971. So if your wearing the VNGC with Palm as an individual award, you better be wearing the MOH also....
