Sucked for me in Korea when it came to foreign jump wings. We were the only airborne unit on the peninsula at the time and we jumped quite a few times. I dont remember the name of the DZ but there was a big ass wind tunnel for skydiving/Halo dudes there. We never got foreign jump wings cause none of the ROK soldiers were able to participate with us. What was the name of the DZ u guys used?

Mae San-Ri DZ in Korea...same one you are thinking of...the Special Warfare School is there. Their equivelant of CAG is there too, I actually landed in their HQ courtyard in high winds from an MC130.

Thai wings and Thai balloon wings, as depicted in the signature block of mine.

I got British wings in 1985. We were at Aldershot. I hope I spelt that correctly. I got suckered into running the steeple chase with some of the British P-1 students. I attempted to get out of it by saying I had only one clean uniform. One of the instructors called bull shit on me and we swapped uniforms. Thank god I wasn't going commando that day. I still have the photos of me in my blue speedos swapping uniforms. Balloon jumps suck! Took way too long for the chute too open.

Are any of y'all hitting up Toy Drop this year? With Division being gone last year it was wide open and rumor has it this year they have four different countries participating. Can't find it on the Google though .

Pretty sure it's Germany, Canada, Poland and Estonia. I read the OPORD on green side but I don't remember all the details. All I know is I'm gonna try to straphang SWC's jump.

Cool Re: What foreign wings have you earned?

Grab a couple of toys and then go to Sicily. The jump should be the week after next/ the first Saturday of December. I took two of my guys out there in '08 and they got on the last jump of the day. I didn't get to jump but I did manage to sit there all day...........

I saw the new flyer for it today. It's on the 11th and countries participating are Botswana, Canada, Chile, Estonia, Germany, Israel, Ireland, Latvia, Poland and Thailand. Sounds pretty awesome if you get to participate. I won't be here though, TDY to Florida :(
