Zaph, this is correct. A list of foreign awards approved for wear are in AR 600-8-22. The only foreign award authorized for wear from Canada is the Canadian Forces Flying Badge-Pilot. Yeah it sucks, but Canadian jump wings are not authorized for wear on our A's. I'm not sure why they aren't authorized but I'm sure that HRC awards branch is open to suggestions. The list is pretty comprehensive, but there are a lot of countries out there that do not have authorized parachutist badges.

If I'm not mistaken,guys I served with in the 80's HAD Canadian wings(this is when you could where them on cammies,BDU's or OG107's)..so this must be a fairly new reg. Talk about disrespect..the Canucks are doing great stuff with us in A-stan and now we can't even honor that with the ability to where their wings! Hope that changes..Canadian Wings are sharp looking!

I got my Canadian wings in '89, and they were allowed then. I thought the old Canadian Airborne Regiment was a sharp group as well. I hated to hear when they were disbanded due to the Somalia incident. A shame.

I got Canadian wings this year too and according to the folks over at PSYOPS the reason we can't wear them now is because the Canadian parachutist regiment disbanded. Even though it's been re-instituted (now) the reg hasn't been updated. I was also told that they, PSYOPS, is trying to get an exception to policy so everyone can wear them. Good thing I went back for the German jump because I can WEAR those. I jumped with the Germans three times that week but still need 14 more jumps to wear the silver ones. Looking like that ain't gonna happen unless (A) I get those jumps before I PCS in March OR (B) I go to an Airborne unit.......IN KOREA. Anywho, at least I have them and that's something.

OH, Yes them ole Blood Wings...got a pair of them myself...Bitch said she didn't know. I had gone to the nearest 7-11 to pick up some beer and she didn't tell me so I walked in and people were looking at me and laughing..I was asking what's so fuckin funny.. and then one guy told me and I went in the bathroom and washed my face off.

1st set was Romanian during Toy Drop 2003, 2nd set was El Salvadoran. Lucky, I was tasked to fill a chute for a Blackhawk jump and the El Salvadorans were the JMs, 3rd set was Australian during Toy Drop 2006.
