Sweet! Presidential unit citation for certain 82nd units.......

I went up to Division G1 and found out that they were sitting on PUCs for about 10 units. The problem, as they've said, is that many of these units have been deactivated or merged into BCTs. Anywho, if you were in the following units attached to 3rd ID:

    B Co 82nd Signal Bn
    B Co 313th Engineers
    B Co 307th Engineers
    84th Engineer Co
313th Military Intelligence (just B Co I think)
    A Troop 1st Squadron 17th Cavalry
    21st Chemical Co
    Battery B 3rd Bn 4th ADA
    1st & 2nd Bn 82nd AVN

The number to the awards office in G1 is (910) 432-6444 or 6112. I have the PUC for 82nd Signal if anyone needs it. If anything PM me and I can give further advice.

The Awards office at HRC St Louis is really good at working with you too if you give them the unit and dates (Months) as well. I've dealt with them.

I find it somewhat disturbing that it took that long for the PUCs to make it through the system...

    313th Military Intelligence

Outstanding! The 313th MI was a great unit. I was with B. Co.-attached to 1/325 during the Gulf War.

You never know what you got if you depend on anybody. My military records were lost by the Personnel Records Center of (PRC) St Louis, about 2000. When my DD form 215 was up dated in 1994, my parachute and glider badges were omitted. I bitched to army awards review board, but they said they could do nothing without my service records. Of course my records had been lost by the PRC in 2000. After 10 years of my effort to locate my lost records I said the hell with it and in 2012 bitched to the Secretary of the Army through my Congressman. Low and behold I received orders confirming my Parachute and Glider badges. And, to my surprise, I was also awarded the Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Korean War Service Medal, which I never knew had been awarded to all units in the Korean war period. You never know until you inquire.

Not to hijack, but you're just taking the opportunity to brag that you're the only stud here with glider wings!

I don't have anything to brag about !!!!! I earned my Glider wings as I earned my Parachute wings. I felt that they should be reflected on my DD Form215, which they were not.
So I got that corrected after 10 years of effort. What would you do ?? BTW I did not know there were NO glider qualified persons on board. Forgive me for being the only one.
