I met some SEALs at Rosevelt Roads Naval Station in Puerto Rico before they closed it a couple years ago. Guys were super cool and humble. Their morning PT consisted of them jumping into the water off the far east end of the area and swimming around a small island before coming back. Sometimes they'd be gone as long as two hours.
I met some SEALs in Afghanistan who told us we were stupid for driving around Kandahar City during the middle of the day. Said every Taliban and Al "Jihad" homer in the city was trying to pin us down to kill us on the radios they were monitoring. I just pointed at the Lt. in charge and said it was his fault.
Really cool guys though, not big headed or holier than thou. Just quiet professionals that were funny as hell.

Never had the honor to meet one. Did read that book Lone Survivor by Marcus Luttrell- great read.
" Get out of that door you Goddamn piece of shit" and than I felt the kick of the boot on my skinny ass and the small of my back- it broke my grasp of the tower door and out I went screaming like a little girl
When I was at JRTC in 90' we had a SEAL who worked for us as permanent party as a full time NG if memory serves me right; his rank was SFC and all he wore on his uniform was his Trident. Nuff said he was a friendly guy, but one you knew was a bad mother who would hand you your ass if you messed with him.

Well... the baddest guy I ever met was a Space Shuttle Door gunner guy that happened to be preparing for some Lunar invasion. Lots of little furry fuckers on the planet...and he said the guy they were out to get was 10 times worse than Kim Jung Il. Wore some kind of black cape and helmet, talked funny and choked the shit out of people from across the room. The REAL ace of spades. He said this guy was the real mastermind behind WW2.

I have always heard if you have to tell someone what you do, you have failed at what you do.
Whether Seals, Rangers, or whatever special forces unit you happen to engage with there are good ones and bad ones. Some talk smack and some say nothing about themselves. When it comes down to action 90% whether the talk smack of not can get down in a combat situation whether you like each other or not." He who spills blood with me today is my brother". The point is I have family that is the same way but when it is over they are still brothers. You have to take the good with the bad in everyone and every situation. It makes you appreciate it more.
I can remember meeting 1 seal. I was taking care of his mother in El Paso after Katrina. I sent the Red Cross message so I knew he was a seal. we talked for a while real cool dude.
