That sucks. If you look at from the company side. The money is insured. Let the robber have it. Don't try to be the hero your life is not insured by company. Although it sucks he did break their policy.

We all would try to stop him. Because of the nature of our attitude, having a Militairy background its hard to be the victim.

Unfortunately, I'm sure the company policy is there because of all the wackiness that goes on in our legal system today. If the teller had tackled the guy and the perp had broken a hip...he would have sued the bank. (And, sadly, probably won.) Ridiculous.

I can totally understand not being a hero and all as the money is secured and will be covered. But to fucking fire the guy? Jesus Christ. Mabye a right up or a suspension some type of slap on the wrist but to fire the guy is just fucking stupid.

Every time, OK, very often, when I visit my bank before going to a shooting range for little proficiency practice training with my avatar - or nastier, my M16 - I have this little dream of somebody robbing it while I have something like over 300 rounds preloaded in 12+ magazines. Mister/Mistress Socialist decides to share the wealth with a firearm. And I happen to show up armed to the proverbial teeth.

Scenario 1: He/she just started to rob the place. I see them start and I go back to my car and take out my avatar. If I'm fast enough, and sneaky enough quiet enough (I have this nasty habit of occasionally walking right behind somebody heading for a door. I can be so quiet they never hear my footsteps until they go through the door first) and lucky enough, I may get the drop on a solo crook. One second they are demanding money, the next second they first feel a little tap about their head from the barrel, a little whistle from me followed by a message telling them to imitate a statue. I may something to the effect of a *tsk* Not your day. Put your weapon down and I wont use mine, etc.

Scenario 2: Too late for inside the bank; I have time to turn their car into Swiss Cheese though. If I'm going to use Senior - My M16 - I will have between 6 and 27 magazines, all loaded with 30 rounds each. If I'm have a Rock & Roll session planned, add a Fully loaded C-Mag and its 100 rounds of .223/5.56. Where will the biggest mess be; the Socialist(s) shitting their pants, or the many fluids (cooling, brake, etc.) a car has.

Which reminds me: I need to call up the BATFE office up some time next week and ask what is taking so long. I've been Pending for at least 6 weeks now. Change my Avatar from a Suppressed Glock 17 to a Suppressed M16.

Brave actions, but not too smart. The robber could have been armed and the teller could be a lot worse off than fired. Discretion is the better part of Valor! Old axiom, but very true when you are an unarmed civilian chasing a bank robber.

I would have done the same as that teller...maybe even kick him in the nuts and then give him a knee in the face and then he should be down for the count!...The teller should have been given at least a letter of commendation.
