On the 29th of July a friend of mine flew over to the States on an invitation (I think from the NRA) to compete in a shooting contest which is being held in New Mexico. Do any of you know what this competition is? I suspect it may be Sillhouette but am not sure.

He flew out with 4 of his guns but no ammo. Apparently he will have to reload on site using local powder.

If any of you are in the region it would be appreciated if you could pop in and give him an "Airborne American Welcome". His name is Nic Opperman and I suspect he may be the only South African participating in the event. I cannot imagine that there would be more than one competition taking place in that region at this time.

On another tack, he was explaining to me the procedures to export a weapon from South Africa and the requirements to import a rifle(s) into the States. Then there was the airline carrier regs to deal with. It sounded like plenty of PT.
