    Default Internet Explorer Passwords

What's a good utility for getting your hands on the passwords you have stored in Internet Explorer?

My google-fu tells me the passwords are stored in Microsoft Protected Storage. I found some programs available for download, but am a little hesitant to use one unless someone can vouch for it. (You never know if the programmers built in the ability for it to send them my passwords.)

Anybody know the best way to do this?

I know they are encoded, but I didn't think they were in protected storage.. which version of IE???

The cain and abel utility will decode Protected Storage, and has a IE7 password decoder..

I have IE7. I could easily be wrong about the protected storage piece. It's what came up as I was googling for an answer.

after install.. run it ( have to run as administrator..) under the decoder tab and click on the IE7 Passwords.. then click on the + sign in the toolbar.. and it will dump all passwords stored

Run to the greyhound station and pick up Midget #7 (Charlene) that I sent you. She will be arriving on Bus #1416 at 1900 hrs. She will clean you undercarriage so good that you will forget all about those pesky passwords. Enjoy!

P.S. Did you forget your porn paswords? How dare you!

Worked like a charm. I did have to use the "protected storage" tab to get some of them, but it worked without a glitch. Thanks, DD!

You could have mentioned she wasn't going to wear her dentures.

Not that it turned out to be a bad thing, you understand....
