Fair question. Each shirt adds $4 to the Sizzler fund. It may not sound like much but when you consider that we had a total of 40 individual requests (and a couple of people have purchased more than one shirt) it starts to add up pretty quick.

I think the success of this year's shirts comes from the fact that I offered custom options (flash, crest, and quote). It added a considerable amount of time during the design process (nearly all of the insignia had to be redrawn) but everyone seems to be very satisfied with the results.

Some people haven't ordered shirts yet (there's no rush if you're not attending the Sizzler) so we don't have a final tally but I think we've passed $120 in profit. CafePress hangs on to the money until the 30-day return policy has expired, then they cut a check.

Is it too late? I didn't realize this was a fund-raiser. Guess If I'm going, I should have an official shirt for it.

But what do I put for the flash or quote? Nothing? A caduceus like my avatar? It would look unbalanced to be left blank.

Good idea - thanks. Low add'l work intensity for Bgermain, too. Maybe I should have a quote that says "Ladies Auxiliary" or "Camp Followers" or something.

Wasn't someone in your family Airborne? Use the one they had.

The "camp follower" goes on the daisy dukes shorts you'll be issued before the wet t shirt contest.

LadyDoc: If you know the unit to which a family member belonged, I could try searching for that. A picture would be helpful as well so I'll know when I've found the right one. Otherwise, a caduceus shouldn't be too much of a problem.

    Oh, there will be.

But if you think we're sharing them with a man who would forsake us for hippies (even good looking ones), you are sadly mistaken....

Promises were made and money was spent before any date was set for the gathering. I was trying to my money back so I can use it to go to Shadow's but them fuckers wouldn't give it back! Spent over 300 for the tickets so I wasn't about to let that go!

Next year I will be there! (So Ops, where were you last year?)

My younger bro has his wings (since around 1987-88), but he was not in a unit on jump status. When I asked him the other year about it when I was starting to learn about this stuff, he said he was a "Cherry". So, I guess there's no point in using his unit insignia on an Airborne shirt.

It's probably easier for the shirt designer to just make it two balancing APO flashes with a quote that says "Ladies Auxiliary". So let's go with that, if it isn't too late or too much trouble. Thanks a bunch.

Why would you want pictures of Ops in a wet T-shirt?

Wait, I don't want to know!
