(Been teasing the cute kids at work with 80's talk all day. We never actually did that in tiny town Texas)
Best bet on mags is to watch for sales at MidwayUSA, CheaperthanDirt, etc. Glock doesn't discount mags to anybody, although they will run sales to the public occasionally. Still cheaper at Midway etc.

Lasers are really getting interesting in the last few months or so. Streamlight (TLR-6), LaserMax (new GripSense models for Glock 42/43 in a coupla months), ArmaLaser (True Touch Technology), Crimson Trace all have models out that will knock your socks off.

That depends on your viewpoint. Although pricey I felt it was worth it. In three years I'll ask myself again.

Interesting. I don't see it as something I'll keep up (as I won't need to stay current since I wouldn't be working professionally) but rather a strong knowledge base for personal projects and confidence.

In your case I'd say yes, especially now that they've added the Gen5 and Slimline info.
I've been a Glock fan and owner since 1988. I know how to take one apart. But the technical info I received was stellar. The ability to order all the parts is grand also.
