Drive on!
Drive on!
"He was a SOT-A Soldier doing exactly what SOT-A's do," his commander said, "fighting alongside his special forces teammates in the most difficult, dangerous places while carrying heavy loads of technical gear that saves lives of our forces and takes the lives of our enemies."

The last paragraph is spot on for you.
Congratulations. To bad the Army is not getting you.

Congratulations, Shawn. I'm glad you're finally able to make this happen.
Of course, we're gonna give you all sorts of grief for being a squid. But I suppose you can handle that...

That's my original link, describing my first 1-2 years of enlistment.
Then, if you start at page 1 of this forum and move forum you'll see the second 2 1/2 years of reenlistment attempting.

-Update-
Just for general sitrep purposes, I'm still moving along in the half-dep process waiting to ship December 2nd. So far everything is on track, save a minor back injury. I haven't been able to contact Ranger Har, nor has he contacted me lately, if anyone could shed some light on where he may be contacted, or why he may not be, please PM me. Thank you Rangers for this forum and your time.

Paratroopers and forum members,
After Thanksgiving and this weekend passes by, I leave for the Navy. APO and AR.com have been invaluable resources in sustaining my course to a special operations unit. I don't have a special operations contract given my circumstances and the recession, but this is by no means the end. It's barely even the beginning. The support and information the men have given me here is what has gotten me where I am, fighting through the bullshit that is bureaucracy, despite numerous clerical obstacles which at one point had people telling me I was done. I will never quit, I will never get up, and I will continue to make sure that everything I do is with the end goal in mind. The first thing I'll be doing is putting in a packet for SWCC, but the Ranger's is still priority, however can happen. I will post sitreps accordingly, and thank you for your assistance.
Never quit.

Don't quit, keep up the positive attitude.
Congratulations and good luck. Keep us posted.
...and like I told a guy at work last week. I know you hate you're going in the Navy, but at least it isn't the Air Force...
