    What you could do is plug in a regular monitor if you have a spare, and at least for Dells hit Fn + F8 and that will allow you to use the monitor and keep the lid closed, and still use the hardware

    Yeah, I plugged in another monitor just to see what it looked like, and it worked fine.

    Interestingly enough, if I take my thumb and push on the right corner of the screen, it'll start working right for about 30 minutes. Kinda like some connection in the display is loose or something.

    Dude, I had a guy screw up a screen closing it on some papers. It bowed the screen and cracked it when dumbass pushed down to latch it.

    There is something to be said for this new Army.....it sure isn't the Army I was in!

    So Ops.....I had a friend bring me a laptop with the same problem once.

    A bit of searching on the web and I was able to find the instructions to take it apare properly. A dab of epoxy did the trick. Sounds like what we in the business call an RMP....Repulsive Mechanical Problem!
