trying to survive our caring politians
Loadmaster rigging had nothing to do with it bro. We rig the extraction package only. It extracted..........and after that we have no control over it. Looks like a failure of one or more of the G-11s.
Why does he have a silver Dollar sewn behind his Patch? I don't know much of that kind of history.

Field expiedient blackjack made out of a cunt cap.
Great pics AL hopefully one of my nephews or nieces continue the Airborne tradition. I'm the only living paratrooper in my family.
Thank for the answers. Cool stories and pix MM.

Sharp damn Troopers here. Circa May 1984. I am of course, the handsome young trooper wearing the PFC stripes bottom row, left. Got my EIB, wings, and only my gay pride ribbon. LOL.
Back Row: Sgt. Mark Stevens (my first squad leader), Sgt Mark Monroe, Sgt Ramage.
Front Row: Super Stud, Pvt Bryan Miller (He and I went to FDC after time on the guns), Pvt Stan Setliff.
4 Grenada vets and two cherries! Hell, I got there November 1983 while they were still in Grenada.
Look at the spit shine on those boots ladies!!! No fucking Corafram shit there!
Stan the one who sent me the negatives of this pic.

Nothing bro. He graduated Goose Creek High School June 83 and went straight to basic. I graduated same time but left for basic mid-July. I went in as a PFC (JROTC....) It was about > < that much fucking time apart was all it took for him to go and me to miss it. He had a grand total of 4 months in the Army when he deployed. He's 19 in the picture. I am 18.
I missed this thread before now, or I completely forgot about it, which is entirely possible these days....
Great pics, Big Al!
Q: You ever come close to making an impromptu and unexpected exit due to not wearing a harness?
Q2: Ever have a premature deployment of a reserve on your bird?
Q3: Do Loadies get any parachute instruction other than "put this on"?

1: I can only wish....usually quite smooth back there. Although I have seen jumpers fall out of the OPPOSITE door!
We were #3 ship of a 3 ship formation back in my C-141B days. Dropping Rangers on Airfield at Fort Stewart. Just finished the first pass and was turning left outbound of the DZ. I was observing that pass and was sitting on the aux loading ramps on the back ramp when i noticed outside the right troop door, #2 slowly sliding up into view then out of view as it passed in front of us. I managed to holler, OH SHIT! HANG ON! Just as I said that, we went through #2's jet wash. We banked hard right, then left, then right, then we righted ourselves. Well the jumpers standing all fell down. Safeties, JMs loadies, everyone. All except number one jumper right door.He banged off the wall on the first wing dip, then was thrown from the wall to the left side of the a/c where he proceeded to exit the bird out the LEFT troop door backwards! I jumped up and poked my head out the left door and saw a good chute! I got on the intercom to let the aircraft commander know what happened. We were going to land, but the rangers said fuck no! His chute was good. he'll be alright. We got to get to the Ranger objective! So we did! Fucking hardcore.
2: Yes. In Airborne School. One of the MIRPs blew out before they put in that black spacer. No fault of the student. About 6 of us dove on it fast!
3: In SERE school we were giving some hanging harness training and executed a few PLFs, but that is it. Ironically THAT portion was taught by a LEG instructor. I critiqued the shit outta that class!
The BA-22 is a good chute. She'll open as low as 300 feet IF you can get that silver ripcord pulled fast enough! I bet I could!
Awesome thread. Thanks for sharing![]()
IMHO, we have the best view in the house!!!
As seen from the ground!
