    Default PFC (P)

I have been in the Army since 27 Nov 06. I am coming up on my two year mark (18 more years to go). I have been a PFC for 10 Months. Can some one tell me why I have not been promoted? I came in the army a E-1. I have done the allotted time to be promoted IAW AR 600-8-19. I have a current APFT on file from AUG. (Score: 278) and a Weapons Card on File (Score: 37). I need a little help here. HHC USARPAC STB S1

Well first of all...you call yourself a WAR MACHINE.

You want to make rank???? Screw what you do now. Volunteer for Airborne Infantry, go see the Heathen. Deploy. Stand next to your Airborne Brother shoulder to shoulder and lay down supressive fire. That is how yo do it.

Well, if memory serves, time in service without a waiver to Spc. is 24 mos. With a waiver is 18 mos.

My guess would be that the command doesn't feel that you are fit for a waiver. It may have something to do with the fact that you feel entitled to a promotion and haven't told us shit about why other than a score.

Don't make the common Army mistake of thinking that all there is to life is PT and range.

Or maybe somebody else deserves it more. The bottom line is that apparently either your command doesn't do the waiver thing or you're behind somebody else in line for whatever reason(s). The third option is that they have forgotten about you. Remember that you must manage your career, don't expect somebody to manage it for you.

So what category do you think you fall into? Have you asked your squad leader what the deal is? What have they said?

Maybe you suck at something else. What do you really think is up? Do people hate your ass? If they do, you know why. If everybody thinks you are fucked up in someway you will always be the E-3 you deserve to be. There is a lot more to being a good trooper than just passing all the officially required hurdles.

In the field I was my NCO's dream. I was tireless, smart, team oriented, and eager to get the job done. Any job. In garrison I was running around all night and not taking shit serious enough when I was a PFC. I wasn't showing the maturity required to move up.

I bet if you think about it you can come up with the answer. If you tell me your whole command is just jealous of your superior intellect and wisdom we'll know the answer too.

THEN DO IT! Make it happen, you are in control of your destiny. The only thing stopping you is you.

BTW, you don't need to "Air Assault," just get your kness in the breeze for now. I am sure, there is someone on this site that can help you become a grunt, or Ranger............

    Zimmy,
I am not a bad soldier. I am a PFC in a CPT position, working a Security manger for my Unit. I respect all soldiers and they respect me back. I am well known by my section SGM (EX JSOC) for being high speed soldier. The problem is that they say I have been in the Army only 16 Months. I have shown my contract and S1 is refusing to change my ERB BASD.

You are answering your own question here. If they THINK you've been in for 16 mos., then to them you aren't waiver eligible.

    Until that changes, you're fucked.

    Easy.

You know the answer, private. Stop asking dumb questions.

You might be right Mortarman11C. I can't get a break in this unit. I have put in 4187 to be sent to 25th ID 2SBCT so I will have deployment under my belt for my next duty station. I get my 4187 is denied. I volunteered for AIRBORNE in this unit denied, because, “this is not an AIRBORNE unit there is no need to be AIRBORNE qualified” quote by CSM Moore

Sometimes you have to submit them until they're tired of seeing them.

This statement right here pisses me the fuck off...Your CSM with all due respect sounds like a fucking leg......Does not matter if it's an Airborne Unit or not....You have to want it worse than he wants to deny it. I saw this same pussy mentality from the Recruiting COC.
