Isn't funny how all recruiters start out with.."I got this guy!" Well I got this guy who literally was Johnny High Speed until the day before he shipped. He loved rocking the T-shirts. Loved Pre-Basic, would run on his own time with me, everything. The night I dropped him off at the hotel (POOF) instant 7 day soldier (WEAK)!!!!!! He literally started crying on the phone telling me how he is going to miss his 4 month old baby ( Its not his fu$k trophy, he met this chick 8 months pregnant and fell in love) and now he is going to miss the baby for the 15wks he is going to be at Basic and the Mechanics Course. I have to talk to him for hours and get him to MEPPS the next morning. Again good to go until show time, he breaks down, we get him on the plane. The good thing about the ANG is when he gets back he sees me! He will be at parade rest and front leaning until I am tired. He owes me time, time that I my kids lost so this spineless jellyfish would ship. JUST VENTING, I AM SICK OF BABYSITTING!!!!!!

Got another one, complained about back issues, 3 months after enlistment, 4 months before Basic. ( No history of anything prior to MEPPS) Of course he is sore we have them take a P.T. test every month at Pre Basic and this kid is a World of Warcraft Anime Kid. So I tell him to meet me in P.T's the next Monday, I take him on a 2 mile run. I ask him "your back still hurt?" he says "yeah" I said "okay lets get running, we will run until your back gets better". "He says my back is better". 1 week later.......I have adult onset asthma and I dont want to be in the Army Anymore.. He wasted weeks of my time and I want to skull drag him behind my G-JET...

Now I understand the Army is not for everyone but nobody lied to this kid, he signed his name, and we were taking great care of him. I joined in 1987 and got Nada, Job of Choice I just wanted to make something out of myself and serve my country, never got a enlist Bonus and really don't care..I am honored to serve with some of the best and honored to belong to such a great organization. Now he threw away a future and will suck the blood out of his family sitting on the couch watching TV the rest of his life talking about how bad he has it......The problem is he and those like him are no longer the minority, they are the majority...I feel bad for my kids and what they will have to endure...Venting Again...

Gawd almighty! I was out there from 2000 to 2003 and it's very thankless. I've still got a couple of buddies still out there but I'd never go back. I've been in mortar attacks thinking about how much better it was than being on numbers. At least then the enemy is in front of you and makes their intent known. Although, there were a few good times and some of my best buddies are from the 'REC I'd never EVER go back.

USAREC has gotten pretty stringent with the new rules for recruiters. I've heard that if a recruiter is still working in the office after normal duty hours his station commander can get written up. Can anyone confirm that they eliminated all the civilian recruiters? LOL @ the Army hiring civilians who had never even served in the military to recruit Soldiers. Morons.

They will be hiring more civilians soon for the Pinnacle-C stations as Recruiter Support Team personnel.
"A dark star is an illuminating round that fails to deploy at all or fails to ignite. Such malfunctions are due to either faulty ammunition or improper fuze settings. When a dark star occurs, report DARK STAR, REPEAT, OVER." FM 6-30. In other words, a dud.
