As much as it sucks, it's bound to happen at some point in a career.

Tell him to make the most of it for now, try to get out, and ENSURE that he's on status come re-enlistment time.

    But you already knew that...

I was only off Jump status for the time I was in USAWRECK...other than that I was knees in the breeze for 9.5 out of 11 years

He's supposed to make Sgt in a month or two so he may rethink his reenlistment statement of "I ain't gonna stay no legg in this Army. I'm gettin' out."

Although I did have a couple co-workers that were pretty cool, but the CoC can eat a fat one.

No shit Bro....my SC and the other recruiters were okay. For LEGS but the Chain of Command was so far removed from reality it was a suck-fest.

I love this thread but I don't evey recruiters one bit.

Most of the stories sound like a hard core boiler room in the brokerage industry on Wall Street, minus the weed smokers, well ok maybe some coke blowers.

    Don't envy recuiters one bit.

    That sounds about right.

My E-6 Station Commander did'nt make it several months back either... of course he was a deuche who we called Cat 4. My girlfriend always said we should put a shiny ball of tin foil above his desk and he'd be too distracted batting at the shiny thing to bother us all day.

My old boss, the one we called Cat 4, tried to send a kid with mild down syndrom to the floor a month or two ago... correction: He DID send a kid to MEPS with down syndrom. I'm assuming you heard about that, FO?

Well, well....how about that another hero that cannot follow an SOP. You apparently, skipped the part about posting a proper introduction.....how about you backing up and trying that part again......Don't post anything else until you post a proper intro....and don't poke the wildlife...They bite.

You're a Fucking NO-GO at this station. Not sure they should promote someone that can't follow simple instructions.

When I was a senior I talked to a recruiter who was visiting my high school. He talked about the DEP and saw my interest. What he didn't know was that I had already done my research and made up my mind before walking up to his table. By the end of the week I was scheduled to leave for Basic at Ft. Sill, Oct 23, 1988 with 13F Airborne Ranger in the contract.

I'm not sure what that did for his numbers. Probably not much, but he was a decent guy and I didn't mind moving his numbers up by 1.

I did ask a lot of pesky questions about what it's REALLY like being in the Army. I said "Look, I'm already going to sign the paperwork, this is a done deal so you don't have to bullshit me." He was straight with me, and either confirmed or corrected everything I *thought* I knew.
