I was online for a sec, had to run out the door when my recruiter picked me up. I didn't even get to go to MEPS today, and I'm pretty much in a shitty (even shittier) situation.

    So, what's the story Danger?
Light engineers must be proficient in marksmanship, demolitions, light infantry skills, and field-expedient engineering. Because of the austere conditions in which they operate, light engineers must have knowledge of all weapons in their unit, an intimate understanding of the weapons systems of the forces they support, and a working knowledge of the enemies' weapons. The close combat skills of light engineers must be unequaled. They must hold total confidence in their abilities to apply these skills and tools.

Danger I would strongly advise you to forgo joining right now. Wait about 6 months and try again. In the mean time we might be able to get some sense into your hard head. It sounds to me like your recruiter does not want to waste his time on a prospect that is going to get DQ'd. I'm sure the station commander has counselled you by now. I'm curious as to what they said. I'm trying to keep you from getting diqualified as are others on here. Some how you seem to let some of our advise bounce off of you if it says wait. Not waiting could very well mean never being able to serve. Guess what 6 months from now the ARMY will still be there. Maybe in the interim we can get you ready and conditioned so you are not a NO GO.

Not trying to omit anything, needed to cool off.

A while ago I asked my recruiter if some stupid shit I did as a kid would effect a security clearance, he said not if I shut my mouth. (I thought they'd be able to find it anyway.)

I guess he mentioned it to the station commander, and after speaking with him today he wants a document for my packet. Prior to the sit down, my recruiter said "You own these documents, we just need it to cover our asses, what you do with it is up to you. Our job is just to get you to MEPS. Nobody can discuss your business with the people at MEPS but you."

Don't know anything at this point except that I'm a naive dumbass.

Obviously you have a criminal record that you failed to mention which is what I get from your vague hint to "Stupid Shit you did as a kid"

    Danger,

Did the Station Commander mention waiver at all? If not, don't count on going to MEPS (no recruiter would waste their time with that). Wait six months, PT your ass off, move to a different city, and try another recruiting office outside of that Battalion. Oh........and keep your mouth shut next time. Depending on the severity of the offense, it might never come up if it's a juvenile record.

My .02. Not now or never been a recruiter, but my old man spent half his career as one and we knew not to fuck with him when he came home grumbling about Cat 4 fucks who couldn't keep their cockholsters shut. Those years in recruiting are why he only made it to 1SG instead of CSM.

I think we may need a ruling from our resident recruiter on this one.
