Lot of us running around -- Not to get totally off thread, but how are you liking AK Fister? One of the most hooah duty stations I had back when it was 6th ID. Our demo ranges used to rock -- mostly because they gave us lots of toys to play with, and there was no range control at all.
Light engineers must be proficient in marksmanship, demolitions, light infantry skills, and field-expedient engineering. Because of the austere conditions in which they operate, light engineers must have knowledge of all weapons in their unit, an intimate understanding of the weapons systems of the forces they support, and a working knowledge of the enemies' weapons. The close combat skills of light engineers must be unequaled. They must hold total confidence in their abilities to apply these skills and tools.

I like Alaska, but I cannot say enough good things about the unit right now to fill a thimble. So you Native or from the Lower 48?
Seattle originally. Went to Bragg after being stationed at Wainwright.
Decided I wanted to mush dogs long distance. ETS'ed and came back to do it -- it was some good shit, but only lasted about 8-10 years.
Kinda' dumb -- wish I woulda stayed in lately even though I am not liking a lot of what I am hearing.

And for leave I visiting my family in San Francisco. I am the lucky aunt of a great kid! I will have to take some pictures to show off lol Oh and I found out that I am breaking the law as we speak, apparently you aren't allowed to own firearms in SF. I was already planning to bring my rifles to NC but I just find the laws here ridiculous. Another reason I will never live here again.
