To clear up some confusion, he is vetted as a Paratrooper and service in RVN. Where in RVN I cannot vouch.

    I don't know --

I really want to help the fella in a way -- we all have our problems -- some of us more than others.

I don't know much about who was where in 'Nam, but the whole thing sounds like it was a major suck for the troopers on the ground.

If he did not embellish his travels, I say good enough. Can anyone put this together enough to say if this is the case or not?
Light engineers must be proficient in marksmanship, demolitions, light infantry skills, and field-expedient engineering. Because of the austere conditions in which they operate, light engineers must have knowledge of all weapons in their unit, an intimate understanding of the weapons systems of the forces they support, and a working knowledge of the enemies' weapons. The close combat skills of light engineers must be unequaled. They must hold total confidence in their abilities to apply these skills and tools.

I will answer them again, just for you.
Question 1. is . no, I have never been in Ap Bia=the Ashau valley, and neither was he.
question 2. we did missions across the river without permission ie. Geneva Convention rules, and this at times was a mistake, but on purpose a lot of times, ask any LRRP or even Ranger recon team.

I did do some bullshit just to see what was what, just like you all. Let me know when you get the answers. I never tried to pump up my service one bit, I don't have to do that because it was insignificant to some that gave more.

2.Never knew what 'Lower Jumper' is or was, must be getting senile or forgot. Did serve with B-2/504 devils in baggy pants TRUE! 82nd Airborne. The only thing that I can think of is when someone jumps down on my chute and steals the air and I drop like a rock. I have had that done and I have also got in an 'air-pocket' for awhile and took pic's with my kodak instamatic, maybe 124? been a long time..
3.Never heard of 'Lone Star beer', if it was around in the area in my time, just the sound would keep me away from it AND not putting down you or your state, TRUE!
    4.Also did 'Corregidor in Nam.
5 Did serve with E.2/503-173rd in Nam.
    6. Did jump school in may of 68---49th company, see Cal for details. or Chris
    7. 307-Ace I am not a 'hero' they are on the 'Wall' so don't go there. I am 'evasive' because of what and how the Gov. and American people treated us and our own 'kin,' in my case.
I just did my time to get out of that hell hole. Have you ever slept in the monsoons and mountains when you thought you were going to freeze or killed or get it bysnakes and spiders; etc? Ace, not you or anyone else on the site can down my service or dishonor it, I did't do 20, but I did what was asked and did so 'Honorable' , reenlistment code is re-4, can't get any better than that? right?
    8. I can tell by Skysoldier dates that he wasn't in or on hill 937, did you see him deny or confirm it? Everybody is a 'Historian' ? Ace, wasn't being 'hostile' just said what I meant, Ranger wasn't for me because 'I' was drafted, didn't want any more time in if I could help it.. I said that quite plain in the thread, but you all took it wrong, shit happens!
    9. Now if you don't trust people, I can relate to that, just put it right out front, send DD-214 before getting on this site, this would get rid of the wannabees, sound right.
If they are 'Stamped from there state Veterans Services, pretty much full proof..
    10. If I didn't get all the questions answered, just ask the rest, but look in the past threads.

    O.K. -- a slightly condensed version:

Quoted from all over in the preceding mess:
    Statement #1:
Did some humping in the ashau and Anlo valley,

    Statement #2:

    1. I did not hump the Ap Bia (Hill 937) know as the Ashau Valley, but did the 'An Loa Valley'

    Statement #1:
And yes, we had c's from ww2 and pineapple's. LRRP's (rations) was in for us at the end of my tour, although the 75th rangers is who we stole them from, just like our beer..

    Statement #2:
I hope there are more out there from 67/69 era.

From the 75th Ranger Regiment History: http://www.soc.mil/75thrr/75thrrhist.html

Rangers were again called to serve their country during the Vietnam War. The 75th Infantry was reorganized once more on Jan. 1, 1969, as a parent regiment under the Combat Arms Regimental System. Fifteen separate Ranger companies were formed from this reorganization. Thirteen served proudly in Vietnam until inactivation on Aug. 15, 1972.

Possible to steal from them but a pretty close time-wise -- not familiar with the history to this level of detail myself, but suspect it takes more than a few months to 1) stand up a Ranger regiment (or company), and 2) infiltrate them well enough to steal beer and LRRP rations.

Sorry Buddy, gonna have to call bullshit on your stories. I have to admit its hard because you are a vet, and were a paratrooper, and I suspect you need some buddies to talk to. I suggest you don't come through the door with bullshit and attitude next time.

    To all.
Not trying to embellish my service or pump up anything. I don't know how to prove on the ground, but E-co. first shirt was 'White' Sgt. Ron Foils team leader. John Campbell
more but will conclude with Lt. Col. Anthony B. Herbert was 2nd bat co. I also have several 'certifacates' signed by Gen. H.S. Cunningham & John W. Barns. Two Photos will go to Chris or cal, If this isn't enough, I am gone.
