I have to say, I never heard of Richard Marcinko, but of course I am not a SEAL. I did go through BAC with a SEAL, he stood right next to me in formation. I even remember his name, "Mountain". No kidding. All he had to do to finish all his schooling and be a SEAL was finish BAC according to him. Or maybe that was what others were saying, I can't remember. Either way it was late July in Georgia and freaking hot. He was actually a recycle from the previous class as he had been a heat casualty. He had a big red "H" taped to the front of his helmet all through the course. But I digress.

I think I remember seeing the book "Rouge Warrior" and I know what Richard Marcinko looks like, (if it is the book I think it is) but I never read it. I did read the book by the guy who began Delta Force, and a few others by and about Special Operations folks including a book titled "The Mekong" about a SEAL in Vietnam that was pretty good.

You'd think someone close to a particular community would know the big names in that community, but that isn't always the case. There are guys out there that just do their own thing, move on in life, and really don't know the more "famous" in that community, especially if the famous guy came well after the individuals own time in service.

Not saying this guy is or is not a poser, just saying you have to be careful there. Only thing worse than a poser I think is insulting someone who isn’t a poser and who served honorably.

well when on patrol in the uniform I get coffee from 7-11, and a couple of other places...I also get half off at some of the fine eating establishments...but like with 7-11 I buy things like gum or something equal in coffee...as for the other places I leave generous tips.......
