    I have just moved into a new house....and had to go from DSL to Cable Internet access...

    What type of access do you have?

    You don't have fiber up there. I have Verizon's FiOS and it great! Now when I come into work I feel like the network crawls (we have a standard T1 connection to the world).

    When I get home I'll run a speed test and post the results.

    I have Verizon High Speed Broadband...But, its through the phone-line.

    As with everything else...it has its flaws.

    I am on cable. Speed is 100 Mbps. The only problem, when the cable goes out so does my internet. Unfortunately we have one of the piss poorest Cable providers in the entire State.

    I have cable. It is a bit slower than my old Road runner.
    I heard that FIOS is fast but you need a big rucksack of equipment strapped to the outside of your house.
