Nothing to do with this individual, but a recent Military History show I saw a U.S. Army Infantry Captain with what looked to me like a SEAL Trident and Force Recon wings on his BDUs (yes BDUs not ACUs). I believe the story had to do with an operation of a Stryker unit in Iraq.

I suppose this falls under unusual sightings.
The superior man, when resting in safety, does not forget that danger may come. When in a state of security he does not forget the possibility of ruin. When all is orderly, he does not forget that disorder may come. Thus his person is not endangered, and his States and all their clans are preserved. - Confucius

He's in fact legit (from what I've been told)... he was a SEAL before getting out and then returning to serve as Army SF... he was made to wear all that shit...

When I was in the 82nd Aviation Brigade we had a Capt there that was a former enlisted SEAL that got out as an E-4, finished college and wasted a perfectly good enlisted man and became and officer. He was flying 60s there but trying to head to 160th. When we did pay day activities HOLY SHIT that Trident was OFS.

My NCOIC for a while in the SCUBA Locker was a SEAL in the early 70's, got out and was a mixed gas diver commercially for a while, then enlisted Army and was SF. He never realy said too much about what he did prior to being in 3rd Group but I know he was not conventional Army. That was one super secret bad ass dude. Very modest, I asked him once why he never wore his trident, he said "why sew all that stuff on?" He didn't even like wearing his long tab. The GHC Commander was always busting his balls to wear his stuff. He finally did in greens at a Dog and Pony Show...holy Shit! It was impressive.
Also a Great NCO, very inspirational.
