Rangers and SF guys, I need you to reach out and get some intel for me...

I'm in a sexual assault/abuse investigator class and this ass hat starts spouting BS... for example, he slips and says something about being at Hood in the early 90s but a little later on says he spent 8 yrs in 3rd Ranger Bat.... he mentions something about Somalia...

Then later on he says that he finished selection and was assigned to ODA 754 and did some deployment with them but turned down an 18D spot because he wanted to become a cop... my BS meter was pegged from the beginning but I wanted to wait to find out more intel before busting his ass in front of everyone... after lunch someone starts him up and he's bragging about all he's done to everyone to make himself look good, blah blah blah and I'm sitting there stewing cause I want to front him but need more intel to do so... he also mentioned that all the Ranger Batts and 75th Reg. went to Ft. Bragg for some type of training and caused a fight on Ardennes with 1/505th...

He says that he went to Ranger school 1-95 and that 5 Rangers died and he almost died during the event (I think he's referring to the hypothermia deaths)... he also said that Ranger school was the THREE hardest months he has ever had...


Any help would be appreciated and PM me if you've got specifics and things to ask to fully bust him out...

Man I was only tabbed airborne but worked with SF alot and I didn't know you could turn down a 18D slot. You might turn down a team leader slot..or team slot..or some such crap but not your MOS. And of course 18D is medic...so the BS meter is pinging....but that is just my two cents....I will sit back and let the real pros investigate.....I was at Bragg for 10 years and never heard of some big fight with Rangers and 82nd....and I lived right off of Ardennes for a couple of years...
OH well Will the real door kickers come on down and do your thing....

(Knowing full well that all there have never served) and then talking about stories about jumping...)

I do not have the resources some of you have. If Cal says he is full of shit...he has resources and I believe him. And, If he is claiming to be part of something he wasn't...I'm all for busting him.

So, I'm kind of unclear...is he claiming that unit is a Ranger Unit (which does not exist), or a SOG unit (which does not exist)?

This illustrates the range of the battalions...as you see they go from 1 to 3.

Tried to find his unit he claims using modern technology. Nothing...I repeat...No such unit exists...no doubt Cal is right!!!

The 3/75 is where you may get your bust. Ask him how he got to be in the 3/75? Ask what does RIP stand for? Where does the Regiment conduct it, and for how long?

Then once you got him take up a good prone firing position. Lock and load one thirty round magazine. Place your selector lever on semi and watch your lane.

Not to mention that in order to serve on an ODA, he'd have to hold an 18 series MOS, which kind of kills the whole thing about being turned down for one.
