Where were you when all of the media was bashing George W. Bush with all the hate that it could muster? For example I'll use people like David Letterman, John Stewart, and many of our news media who had nothing positive to say about Bush during his 8 year presidency. Wasn't they're speech protected under the 1st Amendment that guarantees Free Speech to all of us here in America; even though objectionable even by your standards these words constitute hate toward that President. I think it was, even though objectionable to a portion of the population they continued with they're attacks of that President.

Many members on this site are just exercising they're 1st Amendment Right to Freedom of Speech; and whenever such speech becomes objectionable by whichever reason the offending member is given a warning by the Staff of this site, and if they continue with such behavior they can be given a "Time Out" by the Administrators of ArmyParatrooper.Org or worse depending on the severity of the infraction.

That is why I am a member of this site, because it allows a difference of views of many without fear of the hatred that you speak of. Perhaps you should stick around and lurk here for awhile and see the positives that this site offers to the former, current, family members, and enthusiasts of Paratroopers. This community i snot one of hate, but of many different views and opinions based upon our life experiences as Paratroopers or those aspiring to become one of us.

Hopefully I have answered some of your questions/concerns about our community here on this site.

Why are there now to threads? Is there something my iPhone isn't telling me?

I am a Non Affiliated Independent. I have at times spoken out to others to support the Commander In Chief and at times I have spoken out against him. I served at a time when the Hatch Act was the law that governed political action within the military. Today that law is no more. Only a fool who can't think for him self follows a strict party line regardless. That is my openion. The first ammendment to the Constitution gives everyone the right to voice an openion as long as it is not threatening and runs afoul of other laws. This is a great site and yes at times we are called on to cease some arguments. This is as it should be. If your objective is to force your openion down everyones throat this is not the right site for you. If you wish to participate in a broad range of openions then this is the sight that you are looking for. Good Luck. AIRBORNE! GERONIMO!!

Paratroopers past and future have/will lay it all on the line for our way of life. Nothing about hate going on here, just about a group of people that enjoy what freedoms we have left in our great country by saying what we want about whatever/whoever. Just because we say it, don't make it so except in our own minds.

As stated before in the above posts...this site was created by a Paratrooper, to give Paratroopers,
both former and active service members, civilians/dependants a place to be around one another.
We voice our opinions, right or wrong, and attempt to understand the politics of life. Whether
or not an outsider agrees with us, is irrelevant. We have the right to express ourselves about
the POTUS, and if asked to, will fight and die for this country, regardless of our beliefs, if the POTUS
gives the word.

Many of us have fought for/bled for our rights, have you. We have served/serving our country and
deserve every respect given as far as "Freedom of Speech" is concerned. This site Polices itself if one
of us gets too far out of line. If you do not agree with who/what we are...as we say...

We love this country. I know men who love this country so much that when they could no longer serve in the military they signed up as a contractor to deploy and support soldiers. Again, leaving their families and loved ones behind to go into dangers path so hopefully, at some point in the future others will not have to.

I have lost three friends (IED, assassination bombing and immolation) who weren't military but civilians who went to conflict areas because they love this country and were fervant supporters of our troops. They could have signed up for the military rather they had knowledge, skills and abilities which were better put to use in the manner in which they served. They disagreed with the former POTUS yet they still went into harms way.

Many percieve the direction the country is heading as a bad thing and is a situation that is quickly disintigrating.

Many here fervently disagree with current pending legislation and foriegn policies seeing them as strong steps to undermining the country.

As long as the poster in question is not in violation of Article 88 of the UCMJ then they are well within their 1st Ammendment rights to disagree or protest current public political figures (as long as they do not do so while publicly in uniform).

Frankly, as an aside, I do not want mindless drones. I want people who bring opposing views to the table and when the decision on the course of action is made we move as one for the betterment of all.

Finally, I personally do not care for the POTUS or the majority of the people he brought into power with him. I do, however, respect the position of POTUS. Remember, you don't have to like the man but you have to respect the rank.

I'm a vet and I don't like the current POTUS, I have the right not to like someone. I believe that the visitor should actually read the Constitution and for concurrent reading the Federalist Papers. IMHO.

I came across your site and found it to be interesting. I am curious why you allow your members to openly bash President Obama with hate statements and avatars? I am not a full supporter of Obama's policies, but I honestly feel he is doing an admirable job considering the hand he was dealt. Why do you allow the hatred when there is so much good to be posted on this site? I would like to register but will hold-off doing so if I feel armyparatrooper.org is just another extension of Right Wing hate. You outlaw pornography and racist postings, why not political statements too? Thanks!

I am a citizen of the United States, a veteran of the U.S. Army and I currently serve my community as a public servant. The Constitution gives me the right to agree or disagree with the elected officials of my city, state, and my beloved country. I vote regularly to exercise my choice in politicians and when I am not happy with their service to my country I will vocalize it.

Remember, President Obama is a servant of the people and his purpose is to better our nation and make us stronger. I feel he is NOT doing any of that and I will express that opinion. If YOU feel he is doing a fantastic job of making our nation safer and stronger then you may express your opinions on that.
By the way, I served to protect your right to say what you want. Did YOU serve to protect MY rights?

I joined the Army in 1966 didn't know any thing about Nam but I new my Country needed me,I didn't give a rats ass what anyone thought about it, my Country needed me, I was there for her, and I will all ways be here for he, I will support any Vet any time. I volunteered to be a paratrooper under President Clinton. I did not care for his politics and in fact I disliked him. My duty was to protect the United States of America from it's enemies regardless of who was my commander. In my private life and among my fellow like-minded paratroopers I did not have good things to say about my Commander-in-Chief. Still, I did my duty and respected the position of the president. I believe every person here, if on active duty under this president would willingly give his life following the orders of the Commander-in-Chief.

In this forum, we say what we want because we are among our brothers and feel comfortable. In public I suppose we might be be more civil and polite. I doubt there is any true "hate" on this site. In fact, most of the hate I see is coming from the liberal progressive left wing. If the colorful language on this site offends you, perhaps you should look elsewhere.

By the way, this whole thing about "the hand he was dealt" and blaming everything on the previous adminstration is getting a little old. Obama needs to "man up" a little and take responsibility.

The Airborne trooper is a breed unto him or herself. Fort Bragg was, and I imagine still is, the only place I have ever seen where the lowest ranking airborne private will stop a flag rank general; and, with all due respect and observing military customs and courtesy, the Airborne trooper will inform that general that he/she is out of uniform--providing that said uniform flaw is indeed visible and egregious.

Dear visitor, I am not sure if you understand the paratrooper mindset at all. Paratroopers take our oath of office VERY seriously. Along with that oath comes a whole shitload of obligations, nay solemn DUTIES, that each and every Airborne trooper must exercise. First and foremost among these solemn duties is the duty to sqaure away the troopers--rookie and veteran alike--who don't have their shit together.

The United States Airborne troopers know full well and understand implicitly and explicitly the ramifications of when someone isn't paying attention to detail and their behavior and or appearance is not up to par for the office that this person was appointed, AND, that shit like this can cost good troopers their lives!

I expect you could just pretty much surmise that we perform a valuable fricken public service up to and including the CiNC. You can thank us later.

Why don’t we just tear up The Constitution of the United States, It is so irrelevant, to the principles of today. This is a Veterans Web Site, for veterans about veterans and everything we stand for and have stood for. As Veterans we have all been sworn to an oath at one time or the other to protect and uphold The Constitution of the United States. Why do you ask we do not tolerate Racial posts, this is simple, in The Constitution of the United States it has stated that all People are created equal and there are amendments to The Constitution of the United States guaranteeing rights to all people regardless of race, color, religion or creed. Anyways if you really knew anything about this site, you would know that there are many members with diffrent racial backgrounds. We do not tolerate pornography in the open forum, because we respect the rights of people with different religions that may be offended by the pornography, it has nothing to do with is it right or wrong, it is a religious based decision and you guessed it also in The Constitution of the United States. The Constitutions of the United States also allows the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

I can freely say that the Concerned Citizen has never once read The Constitution of the United States, or this Concerned Citizen would have never asked this question. Like to many liberals this document only applied to 1776, and does not apply to today’s way of life. Even though it has be ratified numerous times since it creation, allowing for other rights for the people, such as the Right to Bear Arms; Search and Seizure; Trial and Punishment, Compensation for Takings; Right to Speedy Trial, Confrontation of Witnesses; Trial by Jury in Civil Cases; Cruel and Unusual Punishment; Construction of Constitution; Powers of the States and People; Judicial Limits; Choosing the President, Vice-President; Slavery Abolished; Citizenship Rights; Race No Bar to Vote; Status of Income Tax Clarified; Senators Elected by Popular Vote; Women's Suffrage; Presidential, Congressional Terms; Presidential Term Limits; Presidential Vote for District of Columbia; Presidential Disability and Succession; Voting Age Set to 18 Years; and Limiting Congressional Pay Increases.

As you can see the Laws of the United States allow us to disagree, we are also protected buy these laws that some want to see go away, just because they were gullible enough to be told that these laws no long apply, well if they go away who is stopping anyone from doing what they want with out no recourse. It has nothing to do with the Republican or Democratic parties; it is the law of the country that allows or point of view on to a government entity, protected by The Constitution of the United States. The Same Document that give you the right’s that you have to be an American.
